Leipzig, Nikolai/Brühl

Nikolaistrasse is one of the main shopping streets in the historical centre of Leipzig, linking the central station with the main square of the city. With an average of 30,000 pedestrians per day it is the third busiest street in Germany.

No. 40, on the corner with Brühl, is the building which has been owned by Rheingold since 2014. Precisely in this corner of Germany, inside this building, was born the modern trade between Europe and Russia. Here, in the 17th century, a group of Jewish merchants initiated one of the most important trade routes in the world, making the Leipzig of that time a world leader in the distribution of tobacco and fur.
The building currently comprises a popular fusion restaurant and a bistro. The upper floors house a well-established dental practice and various commercial units.
